Parker O-Ring

O-rings are circular sealing elements with circular cross-sections, and are mainly used in static applications. The sizes are specified by the inside diameter and the cross section diameter. Our O-rings are manufactured according to metric and imperial international standards such as AS 568B, DIN ISO 3601 and JIS. Custom sizes of almost any dimension are possible, such as miniature O-rings, special O-rings with large dimensions and continuously molded and spliced cord. We utilize O-Ring compounds formulated to meet the most stringent industry standards, including FDA, USP, KTW, DVGW, BAM, WRAS (WRC), NSF, Underwriters Laboratories (UL), Aerospace (AMS) and many customer-specific requirements.

Parker’s Nitrile rubber (NBR) is the general term for acrylonitrile butadiene copolymer. The acrylonitrile content of nitrile sealing compounds varies considerably (18% to 50%) and influences the physical properties of the finished material. The higher the acrylonitrile content, the better the resistance to oil and fuel. At the same time, elasticity and resistance to compression set is adversely affected. In view of these opposing realities, a compromise is often drawn, and a medium acrylonitrile content selected. NBR has good mechanical properties when compared with other elastomers and high wear resistance. NBR is not resistant to weathering and ozone.

Parker’s Resilon® 568 Profile polyurethane O-rings provide the material advantages of Resilon polyurethanes in standard O-ring sizes.  The high extrusion resistance of the Resilon family of polyurethane materials eliminates the need for a back-up in many hydraulic applications, thereby simplifying installation and reducing groove width.

Resilon’s unmatched temperature rating makes it suitable in applications where other urethanes fail.  In addition, Resilon 4301 polyurethane provides superior water resistance and compression set resistance in water-based fluids.  Premium urethane O-rings are much less prone to spiral failure and installation damage compared with rubber O-rings.

For use in static and dynamic applications for hydraulics and pneumatics, the dimensions and tolerances of Parker Resilon 568 Profile O-rings match up with AS568B size specifications for diameter and cross-section and are used in the same grooves.

Parker’s proprietary Resilon polyurethanes in the O-ring profile deliver:

  • Long life
  • Extrusion resistance
  • Low compression set
  • Greater resistance to spiral failure

Standard Materials:

  • P4300A90 Resilon® polyurethane; Temp -65 / +275F; Dynamic Pressure 5,000 psi; Static Pressure 10,000 psi
  • P4301A90 Resilon® polyurethane; Temp -35 / +275F (+225F in water); Dynamic Pressure 5,000 psi; Static

Pressure 10,000 psi

Typical applications:

• Static and dynamic sealing of hydraulic & pneumatic cylinders and equipment components, including:  accumulators, actuators, pumps, and valves

Nitrile 70 Durometer O-Ring, Low Temperature

Inside Diameter: 0.029 to 25.94 inch

Width: 0.04 to 0.275 inch

Polymer Material Options: Nitrile Butadiene Rubber (NBR, XNBR)

Trade Name: N103, Buna, Buna N, Buna 70, 8707

Thermal Application Type: Low temperature (<-30°F)

Durometer: 70 Shore A

Minimum Operating Temperature: -55 °F

Maximum Operating Temperature: 225 °F

For Fluid Type: Oils

Industry: General

Specifications Met: None

Region of Origin: North America

Internally Lubricated: No

Colour: Black

  • Heat resistance
  • Up to 100°C (212°F) with shorter life @ 121°C (250°F)
  • Cold flexibility
  • Depending on individual compound, between -34°C and -57°C (-30°F and -70°F)
  • Chemical resistance
  • Aliphatic hydrocarbons (propane, butane, petroleum oil, mineral oil and grease, diesel fuel, fuel oils) vegetable sand mineral oils and greases
  • HFA, HFB and HFC hydraulic fluids
  • Dilute acids, alkali and salt solutions at low temperatures
  • Water (special compounds up to 100°C) (212°F)
  • Used for Low Temperature
